Further British expansion failed (1899)

The British (at least on part of their citizen) attempt to bring a long stretch of island called Palawan, north of Borneo to British control failed. And the British Foreign Office respected the rights of United States government as the new owner of the island (along with all other Philippine island groups).

Cubaan pihak British (dengan usaha persendirian rakyatnya) menakluk Palawan, iaitu satu pulau yang panjang yang terletak di utara Borneo gagal. Dan Pejabat Hal Ehwal Luar Britain menghormati hak kerajaan Amerika Syarikat sebagai pemilik baru pulau tersebut (termasuk kesemua gugusan kepulauan Filipina yang lain).
